The Excluded Parties List System (EPLS) is another online database to check if your company is engaged in (1) federal contracts / subcontracts, and (2) subcontracts its own work to independent contractors. The subcontracting and outsourcing trend in the transportation industry continues to gain momentum under the rubric of efficiency and “core competencies” focus.
The EPLS contains the “black” list of persons and entities that may not do business with the federal government. It is maintained by the General Services Administration, which recently announced the move of the database to System for Award Management.
