Class continues building of foundation for country of origin marking regulatory analysis. Discussion focused on interaction of general rules with marking exceptions and NAFTA override. We discussed concepts of ultimate purchaser and effect of container marking on the marking of the article itself. Lecture ended with discussion of U.S. locality and trademark role in the U.S. marking rules of origin. Real life examples from CBP binding rulings and questions from previous Customs Broker License Exams were introduced in support of substantive discussion.
